I don't see a 102/2 listed on the Kef site, but there is a 103/2. Anyway, I am giving the link to the Kef 102 on their site.
I always liked the old Kefs and they could sound very good. They already knew how to make speakers back then. See if you like it

Ok, that's a horse of a different color!! Cant say i ever heard them. But they were made in the early 90's, mrsp was $1200. This was a 3-way that had a 6" woofer in a coupled cavity (like the 104/2's, 105's and 107's) crossed over at 150hz to a 6" mid and 3/4" tweeter mounted inside the midrange driver (ala Kef's uni-Q arrangement). It had a frequency reponse of 50-20khz +/-2db. I HAVE heard the KEF 103/4 which uses the same mid/tweeter drivers and 2 6" woofers instead of the single 6" used in the 102/2....It was a very impressive speaker from the midrange on up. hope this helps a little

Hey Mer, I have a pr in storage as a matter of fact!! I was planning on giving them to my ex-wife and the kids, when she finishes building her house. They are a great little speaker, they were made til the late 80's and sold for about $900pr. (I think the KUBE was optional, but I can't be sure...my pr came with it). It has a 6" woofer and a 1" tweeter (I believe it is the same tweeter used in the 103's, 104's and 107's, again I'm not 100% sure, but I have owned them all and replaced tweeters in the 107's and the 102's > > > they sure look and cost about the same!)I used my pr with a subwoofer(without the kube). But I have listened to them both ways, and the Kube does extend the bass to around 40hz. I think without it, it is flat to 65hz. It was a great little imager and could play VERY loud for such a small speaker. I think I paid about $400 w/kube for mine a few years ago. R U planning on getting a pr? I have two Kubes at home, i might be willing to sell one if you are interested. Talk to ya soon, Harley |
