Solar trail or multiexposure with scenery
Time exposure of rising or setting sun with scenery. Those with continuos trail a double exposure is made: trail of the sun through thick ND-filter and later when sun has left the frame the actual scenery is exposed. In case of neclace-look, sun has been exposed in intervals of 3-10 minutes and later the scenery has been exposed after sun has left frame. This kind of photographs (with calm water surface) are sometimes extremely frustrating to take: all the time you have to be afraid of wind raising. One picture requires about 6-8 hours smooth water surface and every so often wind gusts start blowing too soon. Another problem is clouds: You have to wait for 3-6 hours before exposing scenery, and very often fair weather cumulus have been born by then thus ruining solar trail (it is not too natural to see trail on clouds). |
